John Atkins is a highly experienced professional in the armor manufacturing industry with a strong educational background in computer and electrical engineering from the University of Cincinnati. Proficient in math and science, John possesses an extensive range of technical skills that include Microsoft Excel, CAD Design, CNC Machines, mechanical and electrical systems, programming, and quality management.
With over 20 years of experience in the field, John has established and managed numerous manufacturing facilities, holding various positions such as shipping and receiving, order entry, packing, machine operator, CAD designer, and CNC file creation and more. He has been instrumental in installing and implementing new equipment, operating processes, and procedures, ensuring smooth operations and increased efficiency.
Throughout his career, John has demonstrated a keen ability to design products tailored to customer needs and has continuously refined manufacturing processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency. He has also played a significant role in several projects involving the design and implementation of tracking sheets and databases for product labeling and traceability.
John has been successful in designing and implementing automated systems to reduce human error, enhance overall efficiency, and provide crucial data for ISO 9000 quality systems. These systems have been vital for analyzing and improving the manufacturing process and troubleshooting issues when they arise.

Played a key role in the development and launch of several new armor products, including a lightweight helmet that is now widely used by law enforcement and military personnel.
Leadership and audit team that successfully implemented an ISO 9001 and a BA 9000 quality management system across multiple manufacturing facilities, resulting in significant improvement in product quality and customer satisfaction.
Designed and installed a new production line for ceramic armor plates, which enabled the company to expand its product line and more than double the production capacity.
Implemented several machines and processes with expected ROI of 3-5 years and obtained ROI of less than 6 months including: CNC fabric cutting machine and waterjet
Designed and implemented several process automation systems; resulting in decreased human resources required by 50% across several manufacturing departments.
After serving as the General Manager of Manufacturing at HighCom Armor, Inc., a leading provider of personal protective equipment, John is now utilizing his extensive knowledge and skills to further the capabilities of SMBs in multiple areas of operation in the defense industrial base around the world.
Outside of his professional life, John resides in a small city near Cincinnati, Ohio, with his wife and daughter. In his free time, he enjoys working on cars, coaching softball, watching movies, and spending quality time with his family.
